I find it funny that we are still all a member of this community.

And I confess that I only joined because:
1.) I wanted to be a part of a community
2.) I like Duncan's voice and reading other people's poetry
3.) I thought you guys were cool and I just wanted to be friends with you

So yeah....I just realized I was still a part of the dcfc and wanted to write this.

ok so i decided- hey, why not use dcfc more often?
so i'm gonna start writing the paris poems in here... muahahha. how clever of me.

Cleanliness is Godliness (working title)

He slid his body out of the tub-
Silvery suds trembled down
His clean thighs
As his bare feet
Stretched out on the cold blue tile.
He wrapped his lean muscles
In a soft yellow towel
And shook his sweet mane
Of damp brown curls.
The door opened-
His newest affair strode in
Wearing nothing but a gold chain
On a strong bronze wrist.
There were gentle kisses
On necks-
Fingers falling through hair.
The towel dropped
And they danced their way
Back to the bath
While rain tapped
Against the windowpanes.

The Artist

I can smell him
From across the room-
Like fresh lumber, sweet musk,
Oil paint and turpentine.
His jeans, slung low on his firm hips,
Are rolled up,
Exposing his bare knees.
I laugh and
He sticks his tongue out at me,
Raising his hands
To show beautiful shades of reds
And whites, blues and more.
I walk towards him,
Naked except for the boxers
I dug out of his dresser this morning.
He massages my waist
With his beautiful hands
And draws me near.
Hair falls into his eyes.
"What were you painting?"
He smiles secretively
And kisses my neck.
I hold my gaze on his mouth-
He smiles as he tugs
The boxers off my body.
They crumple quietly on the floor.
"Us."

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
laden with shopping bags and cell phones.

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
picking at nylons on a fretboard.

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
inhaling herb in the back of a pickup truck.

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
popping pills like candies to aid their virtue.

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
tearing down photos of broken hearts from their walls.

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
faltering over the apostle's creed.

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
playing in parks after dark to see the stars.

so much depends
on the best minds of my generation,
the gutterflowers who will make it through.

Allusion Poem [Sep. 18th, 2002|07:11 pm]

I figure that now I am a part of the "dcfc" that maybe I'll post a poem.

Stealth Health (ok maybe "stealth" doesn't fit but o well)

so much depends
on keeping your eyes open
while you sleep in your mind

so much depends
on putting the square block
through the round hole

so much depends
on gathering the work
you were too afraid to miss

so much depends
on the soft, clean leaflets:
a drippy nose's hero

so much depends
on concentrating while sound
pounds
resounds in your head

so much depends
on ignoring
the dry clawing up your throat

so much depends
on eating an apple a day
to keep the doctor away

so much depends
on health.

Hi, I'm joining the dcfc; Katie said I could. I just want to belong, and feel like a part of a group :) But I will post writing if it somehow turns out halfway decent. ;) And I will admit to thinking Duncan was adorable for a little while as well. So, I'm in!

It's Rufus! That's right, I am the one and only prodigal son of the folksinger Loudon Wainwright. After surviving through performances for my grandmother in Montreal, I recorded two albums, both relatively successful for a boy such as myself. And then, ah yes, I hit a stroke of fame by covering the Beatles' "Across The Universe" for the "I Am Sam" soundtrack. I traveled around to many different talk shows, as I have quite the gift for gab, and was ever so pleased to be welcomed on the Rosie O Donnell show-hurrah! for it is not every day that I run into fellow gay advocates. Oh, you people with your sports and awards and your dramas- that is not the key to your happiness! You need to learn the beauty of green pants, mullets, red ballons and especially scarves! And do you see these two lovely ladies accompanying moi? They are but Katie and Kate, two ever so devoted fans- the kinds of girls who write one act plays about me, and bake birthday cakes even though they hadn't yet met me! So this, you fine ladies and even finer gents, is the story of Rufus Wainwright and his preference of Canada and chocolate milk over California and cabernet!

here's an idea: Write about something from nature during the summer. Poem, story, sentence, whatever. Just write.

If the piece is long, use the lj-cut code in order to save space. It's this: < lj-cut text="text"> without the space and with a message in place of the "text".

New look, New Purpose [Jun. 21st, 2002|11:56 pm]

Or at least i'd like to think we have a prupose. No, wait1 our purpose is to write. so grab those, um, keyborads, and write. anything is welcome. This is mainly a way to keep us writing over the summer. As soon as someone thinks of a topic they can post as "assignment." Notice the quotes. that means that it's optional, merely a suggestion of what to write. Then just post your stories whenever you feel like it. We should probably take turns listing assignments. so anyone feel free to go for it!
